A revolutionary ‘hybrid’ treepit system
As an advanced structural soil cell system installed easily under sidewalks and parking lots, Citygreen Strataflow™ enables stormwater to be stored, filtered and distributed effectively for the benefit of urban trees, as well as for proper stormwater management.
Citygreen Strataflow™ combine the strongest structural modules on the market with stormwater management. Designed to use 100% recycled plastics along with engineered growth and filtration media, it’s the ideal sustainable tree growth system that can help you transform grey spaces into green.
Protect bodies of water from pollution run-off, prevent urban flooding and develop more livelier, greener spaces in cities.
Citygreen Strataflow™ is an innovative tree planting solution that creates expanded soil areas for healthy tree root growth and captures stormwater runoff from surrounding surfaces. It offers many advantages to urban environments and city landscapes, reducing pavement uplift and root intrusion, while providing trees sufficient irrigation.
Citygreen Strataflow™ makes it easy to sustain the healthy growth of city trees all while ensuring the effective management of flows (flood management) and filtration (pollutant removal).
It minimises pollutants entering waterways and bays and reduces flood risks by controlling the stormwater flow entering your city’s underground drains.
With Citygreen Strataflow™, you can ensure that your urban trees will thrive and stormwater management will be effective.
Strataflow™ Design Considerations
Soil surface area and volume
At Citygreen, we take into account the appropriate volume and size of the soil surface area to assure the best performance from the Strataflow™ system.
Underdrainage
To ensure your tree pit does not become waterlogged, an overflow pipe is set at 50mm above the soil surface. This keeps water at its ideal level.
Extended detention depth
We ensure there’s adequate provision for ‘ponding’ between the soil and the ground surface or suspended pavement.
Growth and Filtration media
We are particular when it comes to designing and producing the media that best suits your requirements for filtration and growth.
Number and location of tree pits
In consideration with local regulations, our team performs thorough site assessments to determine the right numbers and locations of your tree pits.
Tree species
Our experts at Citygreen recommend moderate to high water-use tree species for excellent results.
Iconic Landmark Redevelopment Chooses Strataflow System
Using Stratavault, Landscape Architects, Swift Company were able to innovate their stormwater management design to incorporate green-blue infrastructure using Strataflow methodologies. This included on-site rainfall and stormwater being directed into nearby tree pits through strip drains, permeable pavements, and micro grading of the pavement to direct stormwater into the Stratavault matrix. Harvest More Water
The Strataflow™ Kerb Inlet
The revolutionary Strataflow™ Kerb Inlet captures stormwater runoff from surrounding surfaces, making it easier –and more affordable–to manage and re-use stormwater.
The kerb inlet allows water from the road carriageway to flow through the front grate of the drain at a capacity of up to 18 litres per second.
Water Storage
The design also enables stormwater to be stored, filtered and distributed effectively for the benefit of urban trees.
Mounting rods included for setting the inlet, are ready for the concrete pour.
Optimal Water Flow
The body of the design is in a manifold shape, which allows for optimal water flow.
The pipe outlet socket connects with a standard 150mm/6” diameter stormwater pipes and junctions.
Flow Capture
The front grate of the Strataflow™ Kerb inlet, allows water to enter, but not urban contaminants, resulting in cleaner waterways.
Multiple units can be installed adjacent for additional flow capture.
Structural Design
Specifically engineered slope within the inlet, allows water to drain away from the carriageway, and infiltrate into the adjacent garden beds or tree pits while maintaining structural cover.
Now With Enhanced Functionality and Sustainability
